I'm able to trannsfer these files into my PDA, and i'm able to install them, but when i try to lauch application i see only black screen and it lock the keys.

Hi leonja,
i see on http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_pvr150mcekit.html that your Transmitter is similar to mine. Your IR Transmitter is supported with driver module lirc_mceusb2 version.
Follow my instruction ad i think that it will work fine.
Post the status of your work.
If you don't trust my words on the current post i attach here the screenshot of my steps and my tests.

Ciao

I've an NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI. I've solved the problem of black screen after NVIDIA drivers installation after Linux MCE installation.

There are my steps:

1. Install Ubuntu with basic graphic support.
2. Install NVIDIA drivers (I use Version: 100.14.11 because Version: 100.14.19 don't work well)
See below how.
Exit from X.

sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-dev
sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-glx
then
sudo sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.11-pkg1.run
[/i]

Reboot

If after reboot X server don't start, type CTRL+ALT+F1 and edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
And change these lines

In the Section “Device”:

[..]
Driver “nvidia”
[…]

In the Section “Screen”:

[..]
DefaultDepth 24
Option “SLI” “on”
Option “RenderAccel” “True”
Option “AllowGLXWithComposite” “True”
Option “AddARGBGLXVisuals” “True”
SubSection “Display”
[…]

at the end of file, create a new Section”Extensions” così:

Section “Extensions”
Option “Composite” “Enable”
EndSection

Write and exit

Well, now type #startx at prompt.

Your Nviadia cord now work fine.

3. Install Linux MCE with U2 Tranparency

Installation issues / Re: NVIDIA cards question
« on: October 18, 2007, 03:16:58 pm »
OK Hagen.

I explain all with some points:

1. I've install nvidia drivers from Linux MCE installer wizard. Its don't work...when i reboot kubuntu i see a black screen. I push CTRL+ALT+F1 and check the /etc/X11/xorg.conf. It is totally wrong!! I don't see nothing about my nvidia card.

2. I've reinstall Kubuntu and i've follow http://wiki.linuxmce.com/index.php/Display_Drivers#NVidia_Chipsets instructions, but i've the same error posted to dot 1.

3. I've reinstall totally Kubuntu and i follow the steps report from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=514161. It don't work, i've changes xorg.conf in according with this user, but i don't able to load X server.

4. Now i've reinstall Kubuntu and i want follow the instructions posted from http://edutechwiki.unige.ch/en/Ubuntu_installation. I post my result in 1 hour.

Can you support me Hagen?

Thank a lot and sorry for my bad english.

Installation issues / NVIDIA cards question
« on: October 18, 2007, 01:04:12 pm »
HI all,
is there someone that is able to fix the NVIDIA cards problems?
I see many questions from many users, but i don't understand if all NVIDIA cards are ables to run LinuxMCE with UI2 !!
I've a NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI graphic card. I've try http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Display_Drivers but it don't work!! Never! I try other steps to install NVIDIA drivers and i post all my tests in this forum!
I want to solve these question because it is primary for me. I don't want UI1 interface, but UI2. I've buy an NVIDIA cards because LinuxMCE documentation wrote << Unfortunately very few video card manufacturers have the necessary composite extensions in their Linux drivers. At this moment the only video hardware we have confirmed UI2 works with are the nVidia 6xxx and 7xxx series; preferably a 7xxx with at least 128MB RAM.>>

I update my experience.

Thank a lot
