To remotely access your Core over ssh go to Web Admin -> Wizard -> Security -> Outside Access and tick the box "Use port 22 for remote assistance" then click 'Update'.

Do not do this unless you want to remotely login through the internet. ssh is on by default for your internal network. You need to use and ssh client, like PuTTY to login.

The MD or Network booting doesn't really have anything to do with his problem. He just needs to configure the card to output via svideo. This can be done in the AV Wizard.

could you ive me some specific settings? I already tried the av wizard without success

maybe a stupid question,.. but what is a MD?

Hmmm... ok when you in stall lmce-0704 you are creating a Core/Hybrid - which is a mix of a server (Core) and a Media Director (Client) which allows your server machine to have an lmce UI and play/record media etc.

When you add additional screens to your lmce system they are known as Media Directors (MD's) and these are client machines booted across the network (pxe booted) from your Core/Hybrid. MD's do not need a hard drive fitted internally (or an optical drive if you do not wish to play CD/DVD discs).

I do not want MD's,.. this is a standalone system,..

The tv out works, since i tried it with mythbuntu and linuxmce before.

Of course i ment mythbuntu and WINDOWS mce,... sorry

2nd problem is that i can't log into the machine remotely,.. not with terminal, not with remote desktop... This is very annoying,.. any idea on how to get this working? The mce is not configured as dhcp server...it seems to have 192.168.80.1 as ip and also a locally assigned ip (192.168.6.110) Pinging works, but not the remote desktop itself.

Installation issues / TV Out issues

I did a clean install of kubuntu, and then "upgraded" it with linuxmce.

There is no way that i can get the tvout to work. Could anyone give me some hints in getting it to work?

I have the following motherboard : http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=496&l4=0&model=1585&modelmenu=1

It has onboard vga and dvi connectors and has an additional "pci-x card" with a tvout (there is a flatcable from this card to the motherboard)

I have tried using the restricted drivers, the standard drivers, but without succes.

The tv out works, since i tried it with mythbuntu and linuxmce before.

Any help in this issue would be highly appreciated!!
