Users / Re: VDR - recording

I still encounter the problem that VDR does not record things at the right place.
Is it still only me who has that problem?
Or are there any news?

Users / VDR - recording

Hi all,
I still encounter the problem that VDR does not record things at the right place.
When I record something via a Media Director then I can only watch it via that MD.
So I do not see it in the directory of recordings on the core and can not play it either on the Core or any other MD.

Anybody have an idea how to fix that?

Thanks

Installation issues / Re: pluto-vdr installation failed
February 16, 2010, 05:01:07 PM
just found out that on the core the VDR does indeed work correctly when using a separate orbiter.
With the external orbiter's remote I can change channels, open up all functions (e.g. setup, recordings, timer etc.).
So the real problem is the functionality via the keyboard/core's own onscreen-orbiter.

Installation issues / pluto-vdr installation failed
February 16, 2010, 04:30:59 PM
Hi everybody,

just installed the latest beta version (via Internet; on another system I did it via DVD and had the same issues).

Once again, I have major problems with VDR:

On the core, VDR starts up correctly and I get a TV picture. However, I cannot change the channel, and the F1-F4 keys have no functionality at all.
F7 works to get to the main menu. From there I can open the "guide" and the "recordings" page. On the recordings page I cannot access any fields or buttons though.

When the VDR software is installed in the initial pluto-installation I get the message "pluto-vdr installation failed".

When I try to install it manually later on I get the following message:

QuoteSetting up pluto-vdr (2.0.0.44.10021322765) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/pluto-vdr.postinst: line 46: syntax error near unexpected token `fi'
dpkg: error processing pluto-vdr (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
pluto-vdr
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Anybody else experiencing similar problems?

Thanks

I got the same with a fresh DVD install, but only on Core. On MD it is ok.

Users / Re: 8.10 beta2: VDR not running correctly
January 28, 2010, 11:50:15 PM
Just made a new DVD installation (Update_2010-01-27_22704).
There is a great progress referring VDR, but I still have problems.
On Core VDR seems running and i get the opening VDR screen but no TV-picture.
With F1,F2... I can open the onscreen menu or can stop VDR with F7. But no TV-picture.
How can I start VDR on MD?

Marco,
do you have VRD running on MD. On Md I still have problems.
On Core I got it running.

Hi Guys,

just made a new DVD-installation with the latest version of 8.10 beta2 {Update 2010-01-08 22669}.
Now VDR does not work at all anymore.
When clicking on TV on the Orbiter then nothing at all happens.
I checked in the VDR-folder and already saw that quite a few needed files are missing.
I followed the instructions from the tracker to solve the VDR-issues from the linuxmce version from before.
However, when restarting VDR via the Console I get an error message:

Restarting Linux Video Disk Recorder: vdr
Searching for plugins (VDR 1.6.0-2/1.6.0) (cache hit): streamdev-client xineliboutput control
WARNING: The following plugins have been left out due to really binary incompatibility: streamdev-server.

Users / 8.10 beta2: VDR not running correctly
December 28, 2009, 04:27:00 PM
Just installed the 8.10 beta2 from DVD. The install process worked fine and the system is running well.
However, the VDR makes some trouble:
When starting VDR via the MEDIA-TV button I do get a running TV picture. When changing the channel via up-down-keys the picture disappears. I can still stop VDR then via the F7-key.
When starting VDR up again then I get the TV picture of the previously new selected channel. Again, when I change this new channel via the up-down-keys the screen goes blank again.
When I see the running picture and then select F1, F2, F3 or F4 to get the on-screen-menu then VDR crashes completely. I can fix this by going to the console under KDE desktop and manually restart VDR via "/etc/init.d/vdr restart" .
Does anybody encounter the same problem or something similar?

Changing from 0704 to 0710 beta 4 my EIB is not working. I checked it on an AMD and an Intel system.
From console I ran the: /usr/pluto/bin/UpdateAvailableSerialPorts.sh

Thank you for your reply.
Do you have any idea if someone is working on this issue, because it is a basic function.
In addition: Thank you to the team for excellent work.

Users / No "Follow Me" with audio-cd

I'm running LinuxMCE 0704. The "Follow Me" option works fine with a Video-CD but not with an Audio-CD. Even the basic function to insert an Audio-CD in one MD and hear it an other MD doesn't work. Does anyone have the same experience?
