Installation issues / Re: Kubuntu Extra packages CD

It's the iso-images you downloaded from the torrent.
From my memory, I think the extra packages CD is called linuxmce-1.1-packages.iso

I dont see the Connector Drop Down menu anywhere, under Wizard -> Devices -> Media Directors.

The samsung is capable of up to 1380*768, and I can change the resolution fine between 800*600 and 1024*768.

The internal LCD-display is broken, so only the top 4 cm. is viewable on the LCD.

I suspect that when playing video media files, the movie output is only shown on the internal display, as the samsung only shows a black screen, where the movie should play.

And after twiddling with the options, I now get the Orbiter cannot register with the router - please try again later, when starting LinuxMCE.

So, it's back to reinstalling, or is there a command to reset to factory defaults ?

On the Thinkpad t41P there is a button for switching between the external display (ctr) and the internal display (lcd) or both. This button actually works, when i first press CTRL+ALT+F2 to get to the login prompt, but not when i return back into LinuxMCE..

Not giving up yet....

Installation issues / ati woes

I have an old IBM thinkpad T41P (2733GGG) with an ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL T2 where the LCD screen is broken.

I have it connected through VGA to my Samsung LCD (32")

I thought I would use this for my first LinuxMCE.

In the bios, the LCD is disabled,
the fglrx driver is installed correctly, but whenever LinuxMCE is loaded it turn on the LCD as well, giving issues with the playback of video files.

Any help appreciated on getting my LCD to stay off.

Thanks
Amanda
