Installation issues / Re: wintv-pvr usb2 issues
« on: April 16, 2007, 04:54:49 am »
it's like everytime I get something to work...something else stops working...anyways
linuxmce still won't start up, however I have gotten my videocard drivers working
mythtv seems to be able to log into mysql-server without a password so I'm not sure what linuxmce's problem is since it is not giving it a password either.
And now for one of the big problems: /dev/video and /dev/video0 seem to have disappeared so i can't even use the tuner
It shows up in ubuntu's device manager, usbraw.device under the advanced tab it says it is in /dev/bus/usb/004/003
the device manager seems to know exactly what it is but I guess it is not longer installed correctly
I have tried pointing mythtv straight to this address but that doesn't work...it fails to probe
I've gone to: http://www.isely.net/pvrusb2/pvrusb2.html and tried using this route for installing the drivers but the fwextract.pl script fails to extract the drivers...so I'm about to do the manual method of extracting the drivers...
this whole thing is taking a lot longer than i though it would, but I am definitely learning my way around linux pretty quickly just going through all this
if anyone can possibly help me with the mess i am now...then THANK YOU
