Users / Transfer video through LinuxMCE Admin?

Is there a way to transfer a video file from one computer using the LinuxMCE Admin web interface to the core?  I have a video on a computer that is not connected directly to the core.  Can I log into the core using the LinuxMCE Admin Web interface from the machine with the video and transfer it to the core?  I am able to log on from the non linuxmce computer, but I don't see any options in the web interface to transfer files, is there a way?

I followed the wiki article but when I rebooted my hybrid/core it asked what phone I was using.  I then did the following:

linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ hcitool scan

linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ sudo wminput -c ir_ptr 00:19:1D:D2:12:4E
[sudo] password for linuxmce:
Put Wiimote in discoverable mode now (press 1+2)...
Ready.

The wiimote is detected and seems to work, sortof.  It won't scroll to the right 1/4 of the screen.  (can't get to the advanced options on the menu bar, b/c cursor stops before it gets that far.)

If I reboot the hybrid/core, I then have to manually do the above again. 

1.  Why won't the cursor go to the right 1/4 of the screen (I am using a wide-screen tv if that matters)?
2.  What do I need to do to get the hybrid/core to automatically recognize the wiimote each time I reboot?

Thanks colinjones, I can get sudo to take me a ways in the install, but I get a permission denied when I try:

linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ sudo echo "uinput" >>/etc/modules
-bash: /etc/modules: Permission denied
linuxmce@dcerouter:~$

I tried to use su, but I couldn't get the password to work.  I tried my linuxmce password, blank, "linuxmce", and my first user password, but it always came back:

Authentication failure
Sorry.
linuxmce@dcerouter:~$

I don't remember putting in any other passwords.

What should the password be to get su access?
I assume I need it to get the above echo command to work, if not what do I need to do to get the echo command to work?

Sorry for all these linux newbie questions..

I am attempting to install the wiimote.  I have used Putty on my windows machine that is connected directly to my hybrid/core to use ssh.  When I try to do the first step I get the following:

I thought linuxmce was root but the error message indicates maybe not?
What do I need to do to correct the above?

I followed all of your advice and my TV is now controlled by LinuxMCE!!!!  Thanks again for your help.  If anyone is interested, the correct syntax for turning off the tv is <$"\x02**POF\x03"$> (the \x followed by the two digit hex number puts it in the string)

I have checked to share my template, but I thought I read where that feature is not working and maybe you have to submit it manually.  Do we have to submit them manually? If so how?

I have a pioneer 1140hd tv.  It was not automatically detected at installation.  I went under the admin website and under wizards, av equipment I added the closest tv template I could find (elite tvs).  I have plugged the serial cable into com port 1.  I have selected /dev/ttys0 in the av equipment.  I have a hybrid/core.  I know the serial cable and pioneer tv work, because I used tera term from a laptop and sent it the power off command and power on command and they both worked.  In a/v properties I have attempted to enter the command to turn off the tv in the off box and hit "test" button with no success.  It says it sent the command to device #19.  The command to turn off the TV is hex 02 **POF hex 03.  My problem may be that I do not know the correct syntax to make it send this command.  What is the correct way to put the hex number 02 plus the **POF plus the ending hex number 03 into the off box?

It does appear to be for only those in Australia.  When I navigate there I get this message:
"Due to copyright reasons this video program is available for download by people located in Australia only. If you are not located in Australia, you are not authorised[sic] to view this video."

I am located in the U.S.A.

Thanks Zaerc, unfortunately the power went off to my house before I could try your suggestions.  The computer lost power, but when the power came back on it is working now.

I just installed LinuxMCE RC2 386 on a hybrid system and have been playing around with it.  I went into pictures and viewed the flickr pics.  There was one I found objectionable so I tried to delete it and the screen has frozen.  The mouse will move the cursor around, but can't get it to do anything else.  Mouse clicks don't do anything.  What do I do next when I get a freeze up like this, other than turning the power off to the computer and restarting it?

I find your wiki documentation very helpful.  Have you got the SPDIF-OUT/OPT working?  Do you have 5.1 surround sound?

Linuxmce is not an add on program per se.  When you install linuxmce it will put the operating system and the whole linuxmce system on your computer.  The setup wizard is where you set up the hardware you have to control the home automation devices you own.
