Hi, I also have the same kind of problem. Myth crashes after 1 minute to 20 minutes of watching TV (hanging image), and sometimes does not even have sound. :| I'm using an analog tuner (PVR-500), and a 7200 graphics card. In KDE the frontend runs perfectly. :|

You can find this out by doing a 'aptitude shot mythtv-backend' and look on the 'Version' field.

After hacking fglrx in the system, and creating a custom xorg.conf with dpkg-reconfigure, finally I got in to the launch manager. After a while, I got a screen which said 'One moment', and after that the setup screen. (If you can see and hear me, press the Next button, or so) Now the problem:

There was no video (don't know if that's normal), clicking anywhere does not do anything, pressing a button on the keyboard also, and on the remote too. Every while, the screen blinked to black for a second. Direct rendering is enabled, and I'm using UI2 without alpha blending.

My video card is an ATI Radeon X300 with 128MB RAM, which once ran Pluto correctly with UI2 with no alpha blending.

I just installed LinuxMCE 0704 QuickInstall on an simple PC with an ATI X300 card. It installed correctly, but on first boot, before the resolution beeps, my TV gives 'Video Mode not supported'. After pressing 1 (DVI), waiting, and pressing 7 (1024x768, the only mode that works completely in X on that tv), the screen blacks out, even after the beeps, and after waiting 10 minutes. The xorg.conf has the correct resolution, and the TV gives no error. Note that after switching the TV to EXT1, and back to PC, the PC name on the TV OSD did not say PC-D, like it usually does with DVI, but just PC. Switching to VT2 (Ctrl+Alt+F2), and all VT's from 1 to 5 works correctly, and gives the PC-D identifier.

By the way, the TV is an Philips 26" model.

Could anyone help me?

PS: The TV always worked correctly with the Pluto AVWizard.

Does LinuxMCE also have diskless boot stuff, like Pluto has?
