I've been building a system aroiund 8.10B and now beta2 just to get the hang before replacing my 7.10 system.
I have run into problem with the ZWave part. After adding the Homepro ZCU010 to the core everything looks normal (as far as I can see).
When I try to copy the config from the controller to the core I end with:

I have done the obvious until now: reload, restart, deleted and add again, reload etc. You all know the drill.
Anybody any clues or options?

Hari,
can u help out with some things I can try and maybe get things up and running
-
Well,
I took this a bit further.
Step 1) As a test measure I build a 7.10 system to give it a try with the new ZWave appl (according to the wiki: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Z-Wave (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Z-Wave)). Exactly the same behaviour and the same errors.
Step 2) Downloaded mControl for Windows (http://www.embeddedautomation.com/EAHAmControlDownload.htm) (http://www.embeddedautomation.com/EAHAmControlDownload.htm)). In the software is a nice little util to speak to the ZCU010 after you install the driver (http://www.smarthus.info/support/download/zwave/zwave_usb_1_6_20.zip (http://www.smarthus.info/support/download/zwave/zwave_usb_1_6_20.zip). I then performed a reset on the ZTH200, programmed it with the HomePro lightswitches I have and copied it over to the ZCU010 and this time without any problems ;D. After this I plugged the ZCU010 back into the core and after a few reloads........ :D IT WORKED. The core generated the childs and I was able to put them into a room and control them! In 10 minutes I had made an event that dimmed the lights when watching a movie, yehhhh... Rockin..
So the above proves at least my equipment is working. So this means either I did something wrong copying the setup to the core, the firmware I have on the ZCU010 is behaving differently as Linuxmce is expecting or nobody has tested this yet ??? ???

Thanks - daballiemo. I just tested and these instructions worked for me (using mControl zwave config utility)... without it the setup wizard was crashing and I couldn't seem to add them manually in the webmin...

Updated the Wiki. Hopefully this isn't too far off base:

Trac:

wombiroller,
there have been some changes in the code. Could you please check if trac ticket 577 is still valid. Thank you.

Thanks!
NP - i'll delete the zwave and try and reinstall tomorrow via the wizard (getting late here). Will update the trac/forum.

I'm having a similar issue. What was the result of this?
-
Sorry about the delay.
I deleted the zwave devices from my core and tried to reinstall. No more wizard crashes, but it still can't identify any paired devices.
I have the zwave device paired with 2 dimmable light switches.
1. I plug the Zwave device in it gets auto-detected and takes me to the wizard.
2. I get the "waiting for the new device to start up" message
3. I get an error "The device failed to start properly. Something is not right." Clicking ok...
4. I get a message "I found your security system zwave embedded security interf, but it doesn't seem to be controlling any sensors. Please confirm that it has sensors attached, and add them manually using the LinuxMCE Admin Web Page."
I have tried adding "Light Switch (dimmable) #38" child devices in the webadmin, but I can't get any response out of them.
Not sure about the "security system zwave embedded security interf" is it trying to find security sensors instead of lights? I don't have any yet...
I'll hold off using the windows work around in case someone wants me to do some troubleshooting...
Cheers,
WR.

FYI: I just did a full reinstall (for an unrelated reason) and for whatever reason, this seemed to fix what the apt-get upgrade didn't. Worked a charm :-)
Have updated track also.
THX!
