Hell, with a spec like that, it'd make a half-decent core!!

I noticed an internal fan, but no indication as to how noisy that is. If anyone decides to try using one of these, I'd be interested to know.....

Its only got an GMAX4500 though...so its a little underpowered in the GPU department for the price;

These two motherboards have a more interesting spec in our opinion;

ATOM-230 & Ion in Mini-ITX form factor; http://www.mini-itx.com/store/basket.asp?action=add&product=4018&qty=1&c=53 (http://www.mini-itx.com/store/basket.asp?action=add&product=4018&qty=1&c=53)

Dual Core ATOM-330 & Ion in Mini-ITX form factor; http://www.mini-itx.com/store/basket.asp?action=add&product=4017&qty=1&c=53 (http://www.mini-itx.com/store/basket.asp?action=add&product=4017&qty=1&c=53)

Or if you have energy to 'burn' there is this Core-2 Duo version; http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=52 (http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=52)

All the best

Andrew

AS the Zotac ITX Ion Thing comes with a Powersupply... does someone has a tip which case could be useful? I was waiting for the Acer Aspire ION PC... but to get the grip on an Atom 330 & Nvidia 9400 for approx 140€ + shipping... sound just to good! Any ideas about a nice, small but cooling case (girlfriend HATES when PCs hang down the desk, baremetal! ;O))

Thx. Pat

They have a nice bundle (http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=53#ION-ITX-A-may-2009-bundle) over there at mini-itx with the dual-core, 2GB DDR2 and m350 case for ~ $325US...not too shabby.

It can be used as a compact core/hybrid as well - two Ethernet ports, 6 COM. The better option for MD IMHO nVidia Ion nettop like Acer Aspire Revo (http://www.play.com/Search.aspx?searchtype=PCSH&searchstring=Acer+Aspire+Revo&page=search&pa=search&go.x=0&go.y=0).

I agree with nite_man, the Revo looks very interesting. Only downside I found is the lack of SPDIF, but if we're able to get audio over HDMI to work, I'm a happy camper.
Didn't find any info on the network chipset, but presume it will work when 810 is released.

Edit: What the hell, checked out the specs at Play, and they state that Ethernet LAN is only 10/100...?

The Revo's LAN is Gigabit :-)

Andrew,
Anymore product review info now that you guys have had quite a bit longer to play with it (Revo)? Still doing well? Noticed any new issues?

No issues as as far as I can see...its a damn nice little machine :-)

I'ts not PnP under 0710 but under 0810 it will be. Unless you need more I/O like on the Zotac I cant see any reason to be unhappy with the Revo :-)

In another post Andrew stated that they are working on plug and play 0810 and it will be added shortly to repository and 1-2 weeks after that it will go into the next 0810 build.
