Title: Kubuntu 7.10 Install Images?
Post by: Rusty_Shackleford on April 16, 2009, 05:04:53 pm
Looked high and low for Kubuntu 7.10 install disks.  End of Life is 18-Apr-09, but they are already gone off the ubuntu servers.  The links in the install docs are dead as well.  Tried http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/releases/gutsy/release/kubuntu-7.10-dvd-amd64.iso and http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/releases/gutsy/release/kubuntu-7.10-dvd-i386.iso.  Both fail with "The supplied HTTP header is invalid" error.

I can't use BitTorrent since it's blocked at work and my home connection sux.

Anyone got a link to a working copy of the two ISOs I can DL from?

Thx

Hi,

Did you try these sites from the wiki?

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mirrors_0710

I just tried to look at this one http://linuxmce.iptp.org/710/ and it still looked good.

Cheers.

p.s. Use the i386 version.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear.  I'm looking for the KUBUNTU 7.10 install CD images, NOT the LinuxMCE images.  I already have the LinuxMCE images. :-)

After reading the install docs, I see that LinuxMCE will erase my entire machine if I install it from the LinuxMCE disks.  Since I have a perfectly good Ubuntu 8.10 install on my machine that I want to save, I want to install LinuxMCE on another partition and dual-boot, thus, I assume, requiring the Kubuntu 7.10 install CD, installing Kubuntu 7.10 first, the loading LinuxMCE afterwards following the install docs for an existing installation.

Thanks

Your link is for the Gnome variant, but the KDE version is also on that server.

Thanks again.
