Some of you may have noticed a big chunk of activity in the wiki, uploading two pages of notes.
I know some of you may be asking yourselves, "how DO we add new integrated functionality into LinuxMCE?"
That is precisely what I am doing here, with the Instant Messaging plugin/devices, which I have put the notes here:

These are my developer notes for designing and implementing the Instant Messaging functionality in LinuxMCE, of which I am documenting so that everyone can get an idea of what it takes to implement totally new functionality inside LinuxMCE. It goes into some high level detail as to why there is such a division between devices and plugins in the LinuxMCE system, and what they do.
I hope you all find this useful. I will keep adding to it and posting as it progresses.
