Title: Linspire CNR
Post by: craasch on April 17, 2008, 04:01:30 pm
A question for all of you smarter than I :)

Kubuntu is now officially supported through Linspires Click N' Run (CNR).

I have an existing CNR account, with a previously purchased Legal DVD software.

My question is could the CNR client be used with LinuxMCE, to add functionality to the Core/MDs when they are used as regular computers (which happens for us about 20% of the time - kids games and such)  I also like the idea of being able to use a legal DVD Codec.

To me this would allow for LinuxMCE to become a more functional system in our house, Basically I can eliminate having both TV and computer in the same room.  I know I can dual boot, etc... but this is could be the simpler solution.

Thanks in advance

Bad idea, it will most likely update packages that will break LMCE functionality.

I'm assuming that if it could be pointed at an appropriate repositories then their wouldn't be a problem?

try it and see what happens. Post back with the results. Like daniel said...it will most likely break something. He didnt say it definitely would...so try it and see.
