Hmmm... this is might not be the answer but can i suggest that you re-burn the DVD using a slower write speed 2x or 4x and then see if the new DVD works correctly?

sorry that did't work too
Guess I am stuck With Windows MCE 2005
-
try this.
first go to the ASUS site and make sure you have the latest BIOS, if not update. then
under the APM options in the BIOS, turn off the HPET.
Then upon install, press F6 to get the boot option line. In the options before the --
noacpi noapic nolapic acpi=off irqpoll
If all goes well and it installs then you must add that same line to /boot/grub/menu.lst
open a terminal and type
sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
Add the line above after the word splash in
## additional options to use with the default boot option, but not with the
## alternatives
## e.g. defoptions=vga=791 resume=/dev/hda5
# defoptions=quiet splash
then
sudo update-grub
then reboot

i have a AMD64 as well, bad chaintech mobo...
i booted the DVD, pressed F6 & removed:
quiet splash --
and then it booted just fine... a bunch of stuff flys past me on the screen but that really doesn't bother me... it works just fine...
i also tried all the apci switches & non of them worked...
hope that helps :)
