I've been trying to work on fixing the changer bulk rip subsystem, specifically its failure to use the rip target format setting edited in the Adminsite "Installation Settings". Which is Mantis bug#3495 (http://mantis.linuxmce.org/view.php?id=3495). Is there a Mantis bug reporting the behavior you're describing? I can look at them both when I test.

http://mantis.linuxmce.org/view.php?id=3784 (http://mantis.linuxmce.org/view.php?id=3784)

I can not rip cds to any format tried ogg, flac, wav
rip and rip all both fail.(The say succesful)

All formats rip fine from standard DVD in core/hybrid.

Unresolved  issues.

Can not use rip or rip all to rip cd's (DVD's rip fine)

don't know if this helps but
I noticed as it attempts to rip it shows 1 of 5 in the windows and never updates the screen with number of tracks.

Can not play cds stored in changer from any MD other than the one physically connected to it.

Yeah, I'll probably touch that while I'm fixing the code's use of the target rip format.

I wish there were a simple way to trace the LMCE codepaths through the call graph starting at a specified line, like the one that calls ripDiskWrapper.sh (which is iterated for each disk in the changer). Other than recompile with debugger symbols and run all of LMCE under gdb.

Are you working on debugging the CD ripping code? I am. If you are, would you work with me, maybe joining the "Tracing Codepaths? (http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=3935.msg22367#msg22367)" thread?
