Title: Anyone currently using the hvr-1800 or combo ATSC/QAM (single card)
Post by: geekincolorado on January 16, 2008, 11:28:46 pm
I have looked at the HDhomerun product and it looks pretty good but does not
have analog channel support yet (correct me if I am wrong) so I was wondering
what people are using successfully with both QAM/ATSC and analog channel support?

thanks!

in short, you have to go split....because the combo tuners just aren't that great.

The best configuration still is:

SD: Hauppauge PVR-150/250/500
HD: HDHomeRun

period.

Hello all the card is only part support with Kernel 2.6.24 http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-1800 (http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-1800) i am working on finishing the drivers so i can use both :)

no drivers from hauppauge i should have said. the drivers out there have no atsc and no analog yet. it does say it supports qam...so i guess thats something. i do hope they get some good linux support for this someday...well...maybe...i would have liked one for the pci-e slot. ill end up with the hdhomerun anyway though. i dont need analog for anything anymore anyway.
