Post by: fallendevil on October 13, 2007, 05:57:37 am
Hi, thanks in advance for anyone who can help me install LMCE.

I am trying to install on a server with a hardware raid array and scsi HDD's
I get to the select the hard drive to install MCE to.....

I get HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: invalid argument

I get this error for every array in my system.

when i select the drive i want to use anyway MCE returns an error

mke2fs 1.4-wip
could not stat /dev/ida/c0d01 --- no such file or directory

"the device does not apparently exist.  did you specify it correctly."

Okay managed to find a way around this problem.
The quick install DVD does not support Raid! however i downloaded the kubuntu 704 cd and the MCE cd's and installed kubuntu first and then installed the MCE with no problems.

Maybe this will help others with raid.
