According to this wiki, it only works with symbian for controlling it over a data service and not bluetooth. Is that still correct? It said that a windows app was expected in 2005...
I would like to get a Treo and us that....
"The mobile orbiter software right now only works with Symbian Series 60 phones, although a version for Microsoft smart phones is expected in September, 2005."

Plutohome supports following phone as mobile orbiter via Bluetooth:
* phones with symbian series 60, 1st ed ONLY;
* smartphones with windows mobile 2003;
* Treo 700W with windows mobile 2005.
They are planning to give possibility run Orbiter on the MotoQ and Treo via WiFi but it's not implemented yet. I suspect that LinuxMCE supports the same phones.

hmmm.....i hate to assume too much....but the treo 700w and 750 both use windows mobile 5 so the 750 should work too right? or.....theoretically at least?

tested the mobile orbiter on a treo 750, no dice. No dice i say!

Just a short off topic question: my mothertongue isn't english, so excuse the perhaps stupid question: what does "no dice" mean? I know what a dice is, but well makes no sense to me this way.
Thanks for the explanation

I don't know what "no dice" means but you, guys, can try JavaMO - Mobile Orbiter which works on all mobile phones supported Java - http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/JavaMO (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/JavaMO).
-
"no dice" = "no luck" - it didn't work, in other words. You'll see that expression a lot on these forums :)

Instead of dragging up threads that died a year ago, why not put it in the wiki?
