Title: Intrepid distribution gone from archives
Post by: PKWilson on November 04, 2010, 08:20:37 am
My apt-get update is failing because the intrepid distribution seems to have gone from the archives...

I went to au.archive.ubuntu.com, us.archive.ubuntu.com, archive.ubuntu.com and none of them have intrepid showing in the dists list? Have I missed something?

What should my sources.list look like now for 8.10?

Thanks

Hi,

Change /etc/apt/sources.list

from .archive & .security

to .old-releases

Cheers

 ;D

sorry guys,
I've just edited  /etc/apt/sources.list as outlined in

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=10901.0

OR I thought I had ....(every instance of .archive and .security was changed to .old-releases,even those commented out)
but
I'm now getting numerous warnings about

"could not resolve gb.old-releases.ubuntu.com"

can anyone spot what the senile old fart has done now ?.......please....

regards
Ian
