Title: Web Orbiter 2.0 Problems
Post by: bret on September 06, 2010, 05:04:31 am
Hello, I am a new user to LinuxMCE and just installed 810 on a core/hyrbid to try it out.

I am having issues using the weborbiter in 810 (#23251).  I have configured the Orbiter as sugested in the wiki.  I am able to login to the orbiter and see the first screen, however when I click on something (like Video) I get a black screen.  I can use the back button to go back to the initial screen.  I have tested this on several different browsers (Firefox - on windows XP, Firefox - on Kubuntu 10.04, IE - on windows XP, Safari - on IPad) all with the same results.

I noticed in the log (/var/log/pluto/48_LaunchProxy_Orbiter.sh.log) I keep getting the following:

05   09/05/10 21:56:31.097      Received ANYNEWS? 10222, but device hasn't identified itself yet. <0xb1cdcb90>
05   09/05/10 21:56:31.097      Received: ANYNEWS? 10222 <0xb1cdcb90>

I am not sure what is going on and would appreciate anyone that can point me in the right direction.

Thank you

Hi,

I had the same problem when I used a different skin other than "Basic" for my Web Orbiter.
When I changed it to Basic in the WebAdmin it work. Havent tried another skin since.

Usually that happens if you have not carried out a full regen of the Web Orbiter 2.0

Try doing a full regen of the Web Orbiter from the Wizard->Devices->Orbiters page in Web Admin (use the green button underneath your Web Orbiters entry).

All the best

Thank you for your responses.  I found my Problem, I was trying to use UI: "Normal Horizontal (16:9)", when I switched it to UI: "Normal Horizontal (3:4)" everything is working properly.

Thank everyone for their help!!

This is from the latest build from a couple weeks ago....  As of yet, I cannot get the web orbiter to work.  Added child device as per directions, did a full re-gen of ALL orbiters, reset router.  All I get on Firefox 3.6 after the login, is a set of buttons just under what appears to be a title, "Web Orbiter Screen?" such as Back, Logout...   I can logout to get back to login prompt but never seem to get the UI buttons.

Under IE, I get an error block above the buttons, "access denied"

Any info/suggestions would be great.
