Title: Neuston MC 500 supported
Post by: archived on October 25, 2006, 01:15:19 PM
Hi Folks,
i've got an Neuston MC 500 diskless Mediaplayer. I used this player up today with Oxyl Media Server. The Neuston is an Syabas designed player. Its not UPNP compatible but it works realy great. So when i will install Plutohome, I don't want to mis it. Is it possible to get it work? My wife loves the Neuston, 'cause it is a quiet player, without any fan. So the WAF (woman acceptance factor) is very high. She will kill me, if a PC based MD will placed in the livingroom! ;-)

regards

Alex

we don't support wireless devices yet.
unfortunately we stopped adding new features in Pluto since we're trying to release a super stable version which will go to retail stores.

Hi dan.g ,
the Mc500 is not only a wireless device. I use it with the inbuild ethernet interface (10/100Full). This is much more stable. The wireless feature is not realy good for videostreaming.

then just boot it up with boot rom enabled from bios (network boot) and the router will detect it as a new device.
you'll be prompted what to do with the new device and assign a room for it.
