Title: dvdcss library is not installed 0810 Beta 2
Post by: jason_newLinuxMCE on March 10, 2010, 01:14:42 AM
There have been lots of post about this, but I'm confused as to what I should do in 0810:

When I insert a dvd, I get this message: "dvdcss library is not installed"

I have tried:
sudo apt-get install libcssdvd2

I get:
E: Couldn't find package libcssdvd2

What am I doing wrong? How do I load this? Why isn't this in the "add software" list like it was in 0710?

The name of the library.
The correct name is libdvdcss2, so try sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2
It will work.
Maybe is not there because of potential legal issues.

Short story? We have not done the necessary work to have libdvdcss2 to show up in the Add Software List for 0810
