Title: fiire gyro remote 8.10 beta 2
Post by: Afkpuz on March 06, 2010, 01:17:18 AM
I finally got 8.10 working and have already noticed the stability is miles above what 7.10 was (for my hardware at least).  However, my beloved (and exspensive) gyro remote no longer has gyro functionality.  So two things:

1.) is this just because we're in beta still?
2.) I'll be glad to help test out any new fiire gyro functionality

I have explained this more than a few times...

The HIDInterface code in Orbiter needs to be vastly rewritten, due to underlying changes in the Linux kernel that 8.10 uses. This has not been done, as it is not a small task (the HIDInterface code currently uses libusb calls to talk to the remote dongle directly, which must be ported to use the exposed hidraw devices instead.)

Does anyone want to take this on? My plate is currently full.
