Title: 810 Doesn't recognize discs
Post by: thibaudeaua on January 08, 2010, 02:28:24 PM
Just installed 810 and everything seemed to go very smoothly.  My only issue is that it doesn't recognize a disc when I put it in the drive.  When I go to manage drives, I see the rip, play buttons etc, but when I click play it tells me it can't play that type of media.  I also read a post that said to go into the web admin and make sure the media director config specifies that the system has a dvd drive.  It was not checked, so I did that and reloaded.  I then put a disc in again and still nothing.  I again went to manage drives and now there are two sets of rip and play buttons, but neither work.

Try playing the disc under kde .... maybe its a O/S thing not a lmce thing.

Just a thought

I had a similar issue...check if libdvdcss is installed.

I did reinstall yesterday and had similar problems. Ran sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2 w32codecs and seemed to have fixed issue (tried a DVD and worked fine).

That did the trick.  Thank you.
