Title: Anyone implemented Brightness sensors?
Post by: chrisbirkinshaw on December 21, 2009, 03:44:16 PM

I was looking at this ZWave triple sensor and wondered if anyone had managed to do any cool stuff with brightness sensors?

http://www.zwave4u.com/products/en/Sensors/EZMotion-Triple-Sensor.html

Examples:

- Only change lighting when starting/stopping watching media if it's dark outside
- Auto adjust lights to keep constant ambient level

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

I believe the basic support for the EZmotion multi-sensor is in Hari's ZWave driver that is part of the 0810 Beta but there is no 'Wizard' for configuring it. Configuration can be achieved however with manual config commands.

We have some of ther EZmotion Multi sensors here and plan to add them to our demo suite after Xmas so if Hari does not chip in any further info i will post our experience/process etc here in the new year.

All the best for Xmas and the new year!

Andrew

Thanks for the info. Any ideas on what is possible with the current software - i.e. high level functionality? I added an X10 brightness sensor but don't really see what I can do in LMCE apart from turn on a light at dawn/dusk right now.
