Are there any plans for LMCE to integrate iPlayer as an alternative to Hulu to us UK folk?
I'm no developer, but from what I can see, this may help: http://jonathan.tweed.name/2007/12/hacking-the-iplayer-embedded-m
I also have read that they are planning on releasing an API before too long: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcinternet/2009/11/bbc_iplayer_standard_products.html
In the mean time though, why not just have an inbuilt link to the ten' iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/bigscreen/

Hi Che,
We have test versions of the MythVodka plugin running in our test Cascade/Dianemo installations which pulls in iPlayer content and streams it to your Mythfrontend... however we have not experienced much stability from it so far.
We are also preparing for the launch of iPlayer on Freesat here in the UK in the next few weeks... this uses the Myth MHEG engine to deliver the UI and stream itself comes over your broadband connection. We will have this integrated into Cascade/Dianemo as soon as possible after it launches.
All the best

LMCE IS AWESOME!
Just sayin'....
why don't you try to do it as a real DCE player, instead of taking a shortcut like that?

Because in the case of Freesat & the UK interactive services...doing it any other way would be just crazy as the BBC have designed the Freesat iPlayer service as an MHEG app running inside the TV service itself.

This is part of MythVodka 'under the hood' and we're experimenting with it outside of Myth too...its very much worth looking at as the basis for a way to do what Thom is suggesting too; http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer (http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer)
Also look at the companion project pvr-manager; http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/get_iplayer-pvr-manager (http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/get_iplayer-pvr-manager)
