Title: energy usage interface?

Any know of any interfaces that are linux compat for RDC ( residential demand control )
or shedding/trimming power usage in a said structure to a preset limit...

Most of them just use a simple induction coil on both phases to monitor incoming usage -or- outgoing in the case of alt energy equiped homes.

Since Linuxmce already has the structure to shed loads eg: zwave insteon ect.

If not this might be a usefull/needed function in the future...

Im sure a gc-100 unit could be used in this function...

Or i might get a STAMP kit and make start playing with my own interface  lol

any info at all is cool

Check it out. It seems to be similar to what you're talking about and I believe the owner of that company is very involved with LinuxMCE here...I think I've seen him post around.

T.E.D. 5000 is pretty sweet

The new ted 5000 system looks like it may work out of the box for us maybe. Linux compatible and has ethernet connectivity.

The old version 1000/1001 is already integrated with My:ro control http://www.meetmyro.com/overview.asp (http://www.meetmyro.com/overview.asp) and looks pretty nice with the way that home automation program presents it. A electric/power section would be a neat addition to linuxmce
