one question.. should the game player work by default on an 8.10 installation or is there something i need to install?
I believe you have to add the game player device in the web admin somewhere. Perhaps Thom can give some details.
These are temporary instructions until the beta release:
* Go to web admin
* select advanced > configuration > devices
* find your media director you wish to install game support on
* click on it.
* click on "Add Child Device" from the window pane on the right
* click Pick Device Template
* select the Game Player device from the device template pull down
* click pick device template
Wait for the message to reload the router on the orbiter display. This will take a while. Lots of stuff to download.
Once this happens, click quick reload router.
Let it regenerate your orbiters.
Then you will have a games button.
Store your MAME roms in /home/public/data/games/MAME or on one of the sub folders underneath for each of your managed disks.
Done.
