Post by: rafik24 on May 05, 2009, 04:41:18 PM
 I All,

Just wanted to warn you guys that todays update killed my core.

the pluto-system-database_2.0.0.44.09050521951 upgrade got interruped and after a rebootmy core
is dead all files are owned by pluto_promptmysql:pluto_promptmysql the services do not start
and lmce launch manager keeps segfaulting.

A lot of directories got created on root, they seem to be database tables names or values.

However it all dead know and silly me did not backup a thing arghhhhhhh. GUTED .....

Regards,

Rafik

Thanks for the ticket, and as I have noted in a different post, I am sorry this happened. The culprit was not the system database package, but the pluto-bootscripts package. It has been fixed, and updates and installs should work again.

Hi Posde,

No worries,

this is a dev version so those things are supposed to happen.

The fix didn't make it for me but i messed around a bit with files rights so the fix is probably not to blame.

i'm reinstalling since.

Hey!  if you want the lastest brew you want to get what come whit it.

Anyways,

I'm checking the svn and issue nearly every day
so i might thank you for your great work.

All the best

Rafik

You are not alone Rafik :)

Mine got trashed too... Reinstalling now :)

The good thing is that I still have 0710 on the same server, so I just reboot to that when someone wants to use LMCE.

The new-installer-alpha4 has a problem I am currently fixing.

The post-install seems to be the culprit. I shall update as soon as I complete my install test
