Title: Security Integration
Post by: kblackwel on February 19, 2009, 05:50:52 AM
I like LinuxMCE and I'm looking to see if I can integrate it with my current security system.

It's a Napco GEMP801. I read that LinuxMCE can work with existing systems.

I would like complete integration, but don't have any ideas what the possibilities are.

A couple of things that look interesting.

GEM-RS232 Phast Home Automation Interface

Apparently Homeseer can control my system I think?

GEM-X10

Think that enables the system to control X-10 devices not the other way around?

Here's a complete list of options in case I missed anything.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hello, and welcome.

Yes, LinuxMCE can control existing systems. Typically these systems are either RS-232 or Ethernet based.

If you have a protocol sheet, and specifications, a Device Template can be made to control the device, with the actual instructions written in the Ruby language.
