Title: Samsung Q1 as Windows Orbiter
Post by: archived on April 03, 2006, 11:07:29 AM
Hi there,

Samsung released a new tablet PC - Q1 (http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/09/samsungs-q1-ultramobile-pc/). It looks nice and can be used as Windows Orbiter. Today I found information that Q1 is started sell (http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/31/samsung-q1-umpc-available-for-pre-order-for-1-400/). Its price is about $1400. But it's becuase Q1 is a new product. I thunk after two-three monthes Q1 will be about $1000 and it'll be a competitor of WebDT.

as long as the orbiter for windows xp can be installed and you can add it to your network it will work ok.

Hi,

I have installed the Orbiter on Samsung Q1 and it works great;
unfortunately i couldn't set it up as a MediaDirector
-> booting from network didn't work as wanted..... :oops:

Just take care on VGA screen modes, use it like an Orbiter and you'll
be happy using it.......

Regards

Eddie

I didn't manage to use Q1 as MD. To do that Linux should be run on it and it should be boot from TFTP server via PXE.
