Post by: Travis on July 31, 2008, 12:09:36 AM
I have lost the power supply for my Hauppauge PVR USB2 tv tuner. I want to buy a generic replacment, but I dont know any of the votlage info for the old one. Can someone with one take a look at theirs for me? Thanks.

Do you have a specific model number?

From what I can tell, your TV card uses a 6 volt, 1.7 amp adapter. If you can't find that exact power, you can go higher on the amperage, but not the voltage.

There should be a sticker on it like in this picture: http://c1.neweggimages.com/NeweggImage/productimage/15-116-624-03.jpg which will confirm the voltage, amperage, and polarity, but you'll probably have to make a trip to radioshack to figure out the size of the connector.

The stickers don't mention the voltage anywhere on them. I will give 6volts a try, thanks  :)
