Title: Thinking about installing on Sony Vaio VGX-Xl201
Post by: viks07 on May 25, 2008, 04:43:02 PM
Hi all,

i must say LinuxMCE seems like a great product and as a result would like to move to it. I do have soem questions which I would like to calrify, as I am a new user of linux and make sure I am doing the right thing: -

- As I am planning to use my exisitng Sony Vaio VGX-Xl201, will LinuxMCE work on this machine? (Spec can be found here: http://www.microanvika.com/product.asp?PNO=SON11170 )
- Should I install Kubuntu first? (appose to edubuntu)
- Can I have dual boot with XPMCE? which I currently use
- I would like to control my PC with my phone (Symbian n95) using Bluetooth.
      - Is this possible?
      - Are there any problems?
      - where can I get software to do this from?

Thank you for your help, and keep up the great work.
Thanks
Viks

Where have you got the impression you should install Edubuntu from?

Please spend some time on the Wiki and search the threads here for the info you need. Then you can ask a more informed question... and get plenty of help too ;-)

Look here http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mirrors_0710 (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mirrors_0710) and read the installation guide which is linked to from this page.

All the best
