I am new to Linux so perhaps I am just missing something. However I am familiar with FreeBSD and some other *nix like AIX. So I can follow along.
My DVD-ROM drive is not ejecting when I press the eject button under Movies. It ejects my CD drive but that will not work becuase I am trying to copy a DVD. I am asuming this may be a device issue. However I don't know what those do or how they work.
When I manualy eject the DVD drive and insert a DVD nothing happens.
This is my first Pluto system and it has now been set up for 3 hours.
I was able to rip my Aquabats CD so I am totaly stoked to see it working. But want to start moving to DVD and Tivo functionality
@daddy,
You need to install the libdvdcss package if you want to play commercial DVD's on pluto.
Full instructions can be found here www.geocities.com/medencid/

I get an error "invalid device selected"
This is a core/hybrid.
When I change the selection to only Core I get
installation failed (from Debian repository): Source failed the test

Hi Daddy,
The repository URL for adding libdvdcss, id-my-disc etc should now be;
http://www.yttron.as.ro/
That should work fine.
Regards
Andrew
Thank you soooo much I will try that tonight.
I thpught there was a libdvdcss2. Was I misinformed?
what else can I load on my pluto system is there a list of items somewhere?
The system said it installed fine. But nothing happens when I put a DVD into the system. Am I missing something. I have tried to click on Movies but nothing happens. The goal is to take all the kids DVD's and put them on the system so they can watch them from another system. Barney will leave me alone YEAH.
Any help would be welcome. Thank you.
I am still having the same problem. Nothing happens when I insert some DVDs.
Charlottes web worked fine but my other movies are not. I have added id-my-disc and libdvdcss am I missing any thing else?
The problem is that we don't natively support two optical units. Your CD drive is what Pluto uses (that's what gets ejected right?) and the DVD unit is ignored since it comes second.
No I removed the extra CD a while ago.

Hi again,
I would suggest that you get one of the Pluto guys to look at your system using remote support. It sounds like something is still confusing Pluto when your MD boots up.
Andrew
I am using the core as my MD
