Title: Fiire Chief: Any chance to use Menu button as well as Ok button when in the menu
Post by: bulek on March 11, 2008, 09:54:25 AM
Hi,

I've just received my Fiire Chief and I'm quite satisfied (beside ugly, plastic design) with its features... But onw thing bugs me :
- you have to use small and distant OK button for selecting menu choices. This is quite unconvenient.

Any chance to change behaviour (mapping) of the Menu button :
- when not in any menu, then Menu starts Menu
- when already in menu, button doesn nothing so it could be used as alternative Ok button ?

User has finger already on Menu button, so traveling between Ok and Menu is not convenient...

Anyone with some solution on this matter ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Bulek.

Rather than pressing and releasing menu, press and hold menu and then release when you have highlighted your menu item.

Hi,

thanks for advice - it works ok, but get problems on second level of menus.

for instance:
- press menu and select Media-Video and release Menu (I get into video files menu)
- but if I press Menu again it will jump to Home Menu position, so is using Ok button the only possibility in this situation or is there any more convenient way to use Menu button again in same manner as it is possible in first level of menus ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Bulek.

Bulek, I've experienced that too

I've just gotten used to using the ok for second level...
I know it's a pain, and a bit of a reach for the thumb,

especially when trying to hold the remote still... it takes practice.
I'd be interested if that were changed too.. but I'm ok with how it is now.

All the best,

Dan
