I'm trying to get updates on my 0704 core (new install). It's been running for 3 days and the version info on the Advanced page shows Sat, Aug 4 2007.
When I click on "Force Upgrade Now", nothing happens.
I tried running these commands as per other posts to manually update:
cd /usr/pluto/bin
sudo ./LMCEUpdate_DownloadXml.sh
sudo ./LMCEUpdate
(takes some time, but when complete...)
sudo ./LMCEUpdate_Apply.sh
However when I get to the second one, I get this:
dcerouter_55697:/usr/pluto/bin# sudo ./LMCEUpdate
LMCEUpdate, v.1

Still no updates.
I'm at a stage where I need to get MythTV setup but it seems I can't without these updates. Can anybody steer me in the right direction?
Thx
No Suggestions? I really don't want to re-install yet again.

grepico.
The logs you provided indicate that there is a problem to parse updates.xml
You may try to delete it and the run update again.
What permissions do you have on that file?
I have had no problem with previous 0704 installs but that was a couple of weeks ago.

When I installed my 0704 system it wouldn't update either. Rather than reinstall the whole deal I looked in one of the files (updates.xml perhaps) and found the address for the update packages, downloaded them manually and installed them. It was a temporary fix as I expected the 0710 release to happen at the end of November, alas it has been delayed.
I do suspect that this circumvention of the "proper" method has rendered my system somewhat crippled and updates won't occur in the future.
