Title: x264 mkv files
Post by: talisman013 on October 24, 2007, 05:58:52 PM
I am having issues playing 720p/1080i/1080p mkv files with LinuxMCE. If I install Mythdora 4.0 on the same PC, all is good. I am sure its a software/driver issue.

When I play files, there are random green blotches. If I try to skip forward, video stops and randomly crashes.

I am using Xine to play, but have tried Kaffeine with the same results.

I tried updating the Nvidia drivers, things got worse.

Ideas?

My wifes Greys Anatomy episodes are of that format and I watch them with VLC on Mac.
I would make the assumption that it would work for Linux. Worth a try. I am not a fan of xine or totem.  I use Mplayer and VLC for the majority of my viewing needs on Linux.
