Title: Linux MCE with Ubuntu 7.10 and general questions
Post by: badbob on October 20, 2007, 11:01:25 PM
Is it possible to install Linux MCE on Ubuntu 7.10? I know it used to work (6.03/6.06?) Is there any difference between Kubuntu and Ubuntu? Is Kubuntu up to date compared to the just released 7.10? Is it best to download the DVD Kubuntu/MCE ISO, or Kubuntu + Linux MCE seperatly?

I have 2GB of RAM, Athlon 64 4200x2. Should I install 32 or 64 bit versions? I booted from the Ubuntu 7.10 Live CD, and it reported my M-Audio Revolution 5.1 , will Kubuntu work also?

No you can't install under Kubuntu 7.10. Kubuntu is only supported and it must be 7.04 then the CD install process or the DVD... which is faster but will wipe the whole drive you install it to so beware.
