Does anyone have a list of the IP phones that LinuxMCE will automatically recognize (by MAC address) and configure? I know Cisco phones work. Any others?
thanks,

Snom 200/320, BudgeTone
I just received 2 GrandStream Budget Tone 200 SIP phones to test.
As soon as I plugged them in and booted them up, Pluto detected them and asked If I wanted to use them..
I wish setting them up in Asterisk was as simple :P
The thread says Cisco phones just work. Does it have to be a certain protocol to work correctly? I spent a month getting three 7960s upgraded from the very first version of SCCP/Skinny (It was a hastle becuase the old firmware version didn't want to be upgraded.) to the latest SIP protocol. Do I need to flash them back to SCCP/Skinny to have LinuxMCE auto configure them? Or will SIP work just fine?
There is a wiki page on adding the CISCO 7970 phone here: http://wiki.linuxmce.com/index.php/Add_CISCO_7078_Orbiter that you might want to look at for some info.
it detected a polycom phone and threw it a bootp config, but i didnt investigate more than that.
Cisco 7970 works fine with Plutohome 2.0.0.44. It offers an Orbiter - not so useful but better than nothing and calls of course. I configured private VoIP gateway via Asterisk web interface during 10 minutes (you may see my brief how to here - http://smart-home-blog.com/writes/configure-sip-gate-for-asterisk (http://smart-home-blog.com/writes/configure-sip-gate-for-asterisk)). I just install proper codec for Cisco. And know it's possible to make a calls outside home.
