Have a DVD/RW-drive. Installed "plugin" for playing encrypted DVDs. But some DVDs i can't play? The UI freeze when disc loades. Only get a "stripe" over the screen. Others play without problems.
there are some special encryption methods and, for the moment, there are no algorithms for decryption. but, you can post xine player log and DCERouter.log if it is another problem.
Hi. Tailed xine and dcerouter-logs. Not at the same time thoug.

what video card do you have? and what hardware configuration?
Have a Asus EN7100GS512 PCIe videocard. lshwd reports it is using vesa driver. Can't get it to use nVidia driver. Given up that project :-)
Had the same problem with DVD playback when i used the onboard videocard (Intel something) I use a Asus Pundit Barebone. Bought the new videocard to use OpenGL and UI2 but.....;-)
Don't know if you need to know anything else?

i am very interested if you can play dvds in ubuntu using libdvdcss.
Got it working when i finaly managed to install a nvidia driver. :-)
But some other problems now...
edited my xorg.conf.pluto to work on my 32" 16:9 Lcd-tv.
The "scrensaver" background fills the whole screen, put the menu buttons and video-playback is inside a smaller frame?? When playing DVDs,avi files i get a broad grey border on the right side and at the bottom of the screen....
"Fixed it". After hours searching on web and in config.files, i finaly tried to switch back to UI1 and back up to UI2.......And..Guess what? It displayed correctly :-)
