Hey,
I can nicely play media from my LinuxMCE with a Playstation3.
The only thing that's a bit annoying is the level of folders.
Playstations limits the folder depth (i thought 7?).
So when i now browse, i've got:
LinuxMCE/home/public/data/videos/932G\ ST31000340AS\ \(sdb2\)\ on\ dc\ \[350\]/Series/SomeSerie
So this is /1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8
Media in level 7 (Series) are playable.
Media in level 8 (SomeSerie) isn't reachable anymore.
Is there (of course there is ;) ) a way to limit this a bit?
That for example i've got a symbolic link that maps LinuxMCE/home/public/data/videos/932G\ ST31000340AS\ \(sdb2\)\ on\ dc\ \[350\] to LinuxMCE/videos
What's the best way for this?
So I read:

After picking myself up off the floor, I need to ask how you did this. Was this a PS3 OS replacement to linux? The last I read the power of the PS3 wasn't usable under anything other than their cell OS. I have a few extra PS3's I don't use anymore and would wipe them in an instant for media server access in more rooms!!

No-no-no... ;)
I use the PS3 with the standard Sony OS on.
I simply use the videoplayer in the PS3 to reach a mediaserver (LinuxMCE / mediatomb) in my network.
I'm not a big fan to install an extra machine in my living room to view some movies. Specially when i can do it with an device that already can do it. And this device is quite silent, HDMI...
ps between us said, my next phase is installing a mediadirector (pc?) to see how that concept works... :-X
