That should be coming from us. Can you post your cores /etc/apt/sources.list please? I am assuming that this was a net install. I guess I am also assuming this is a 1004 install.
It was an 8.10 installation. But now i have reinstalled 8.10, and now the diskless create works fine!

You know... the 1004 dvd install takes just over 30 minutes... doesn't NEED internet... and diskless is embedded... no TBZ...
