Hi All,
Recently I added a squeezebox to the system. It was automatically detected and the procces went as usual. When I used the orbiter to play some music notting happened.
Then in web admin I went to >advanced>configuration>squeezebox server. I noticed the page was empty. Doing a manual install of the package learned that squeezebox server has a replacement, logitechmediaserver. I installed this package. After this the web admin page was present. I removed the squeezebox and added it again. This didn't work, still could not play audio.
Next attemp I deleted the pluto slim server plugin, the slim server streamer and the SB to have it re-detected again....no improvement.
So far my skills go, hoping some one ells does better. BTW I am using a recent 10.04 of two weeks old.
EDIT1: added some of DCERouter.log
EDIT2: playing with the SB remote does work.

I think it has to do with this. When I try to install pluto-slim-server-streamer manually, I get this..
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
pluto-slim-server-streamer: PreDepends: squeezeboxserver but it is not installable

Yes, but apt suggests to install a replacement package, logitechmediaserver. Even installing this package brings no you.

finally, my squeezebox is back in linuxmce.
It wasn't working , pluto-slim-server-streamer couldn't install because it depends on squeezeboxserver which name has changed to logitechmediaserver.
to solve the problem:
sudo apt-get install logitechmediaserver
in a browser go to: http://deb.linuxmce.org/ubuntu/dists/lucid/beta2/binary-i386/pluto-slim-server-streamer_2.0.0.45.12012525330_i386.deb
copy the file to your home directory in the core
in a terminal type:
sudo dpkg -i --ignore-depends=squeezeboxserver pluto-slim-server-streamer_2.0.0.45.12012525330_i386.deb
Hopefully this helps others to.
I thought I checked in a fix for this dependency issue:

maybe it hasn't been approved yet.

this will leave you stuck with an unmet dependency and not able to update other packages.

Once the updated package dependency is rolled into the build the next pluto-slim-server-streamer deb will depend on the new package name.

Now it works as it should. Just remember to check that the CLI (Command Line Interface) plugin is set to port 9090, NOT 7890.

btw why is it necessary to create another package? does updating the package name for the distro version not work via the webadmin?

Sounds like the SqueezeBox Server is now acting as an UPnP server as well, and causing itself to be mounted again by djmount. Interesting...
I do not have my Squeeze stuff running atm, maybe someone else can chime in.
Make sure the UPnP/DLNA Media Interface plugin under Settings/Plugins, in the Media Server menu, isn't ticked. Untick the box and after a Mediaserver restart it should now be listed under Inactive plugins.
This will stop further additions of this type to the lmce database.

the script /usr/pluto/bin/LaunchSlimServer.sh
is calling
invoke-rc.d squeezeboxserver restart
ans correct is
invoke-rc.d logitechmediaserver restart
after change this the server is up and and upnp is mounted but still no sound on squeezeslave .
if a i play direct from logitechmedisaerver console the sound is played on squeezesalve.
but if i use orbiter no music on squeezeslave .

are you sure this is correct?
I have an up-to-date 10.04 and squeezeboxserver is running - no logitechmediaserver.
Does the Orbiter complain about not being able to play the media?

Was our Slim Server Streamer device installed by the system? Is it running? It is important that the slim server streamer be present on a specific port that we set up.

Try to select a file from the Orbiter, whose location does not indicate upnp, and see if you can play those files.
