Hi all, I've started a new page in the wiki to document as many graphics cards as I can that are working, specifically regarding HDMI audio. I would be grateful if you could update this post with your details, specifically:-
GRAPHICS CARD LMCE VERSION GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER VERSION HDMI AUDIO WORKING YES/NO
the wiki page is:-
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Working_cards
Thanks.
Matt.
While the idea sounds very interesting, I would suggest to create a category called HDMI Audio working and assign that category to each and every graphics card that is in the wiki. Might be easier to utilize.
Good idea Posde, but I'm sure there are a lot of people with graphics cards that aren't listed in the wiki at the moment. I was thinking of something along the lines of Bongo's capture cards list.
Its a moot point at the moment anyway, as nobody's given me anything to work with yet! Come on guys, it'll take you a minute to jot down your graphics card and driver version, could save people like myself a lot of bother when building a new system, or replacing/upgrading cards.
Matt.
Great initiative!
Matt - what's the info needed (or what command do you want us to run to give you the right details)?
/Joakim
One more - while we're at it, wouldn't it be good to capture vdpau capabilities; i.e. what parameters are proven to work with which profiles on which hardware?
/Joakim
;D
Greetings,
Added my successes and failures......
Best Regards,
Seth
Hi Joakim,
you can find all this information from the KDE desktop by checking:-
Applications --> Settings --> NVidia X Server Settings
This application will tell you your graphics card and current driver version.
Alternatively if you type the following from a terminal it will tell you your Nvidia driver version:-
sudo grep -i "x driver" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Regarding the VDPAU, feel free to add any info you want, and I will include it in the wiki. I am however not really that clued up on hardware acceleration, so can't really comment on how it can be used by others.
Matt.
Wow, thanks Seth, great info there, and also thanks for tidying up my wiki table. I promise to keep it neat! I was expecting people to just post in here the info, but thats even better.
Lets hope it inspires more folks to share their own info.
Matt.
I have Galaxy GT 430 working on 8.10 with some tweaks. However do not get me wrong as Its not recommended for newbiee..
I believe , 8.10 does not support those card yet and its not going to be. unless you try 10.04 on your own.
