Although the lights dimming and turning on while playing and stopping media is cool, for me, personally, it's not appropriate for every scenario. I did a search and found some instructions on how to disable this feature but these instructions broke every MD I applied it to. Lmce stopped turning off/On equipment and I was never able to get things working right again.
Can someone tell me the correct way to remove this feature? Or perhaps a work around?
Change the showtime scenario for the MD in question
I tried that but it changes back when I reload. Is there another way?
Mark the room as manual, that should keep LinuxMCE from changing the scenarios.
you don't need to change the showtime scenario. you can change the Watching Media event in Advanced > Events, and add some criteria to prevent it from turning off every time.. such as time of day, etc.
It drives me batty that jondecker76 added the Unmanaged room... It should never have been added.

Thanks for setting me straight Thom!
Thanks guys, I'll try this when I get home tonight.
Would this also prevent the lights from turning on after a media is stopped? Thom could this stop other things from working as well? The previous set of instructions directed me to the watching media events also. Those instructions stopped LMCE from turning off/ON my AV equipment.
hmm...

Thanks Thom, That worked. I'm assuming if I did the same for stopped media event (what ever it's called) that will stop the lights from turning on after watching media. So far I don't see any undesired results. Maybe the system freaked while writing to the database last time, I don't know, but my rooms were a mess the last time I modified these events.
Additional question - Is there a way to change the brightness and which lights turn on after media is stopped? Now that I know how to restrict this behaviour to just the night time it would be great if It wasn't full blast after spending 2 hours in the dark watching a movie..
Thanks again!
You'll need to alter the stopped watching media to call a different CommandGroup instead of "On", make a new scenario, and use its commandgroup #, based on Criteria (making two or more different events based on criteria to do what you want.)

Thanks Thom, Everything is working as desired. You really cleared up a lot of confusion I had about how these scenario's work. Other things started making sense as I was doing this.
Thanks!
You're welcome. Use the web admin's backup feature to back this stuff up.
