Hi All,
I am unable to get MYTHTV to play from a card that is installed on and MD. This used to work but i have rebuilt my core recently. I can add the card in myth setup but when i try to play TV it always compains that the inputs are all busy.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this.

When this happens to me, I reboot Mythbackend. Just a thought.
Thanks but have already tried that several times.
Have you updated both the core and MD?
I have just re-installed in the last 2 weeks and have run diskless_createTBZ right after the install. I will try an apt-get upgrade on both core and MD though and see how that goes.

It maybe that PnP for DVB capture cards is not quite working correctly for MD's. Have you tried manually configuring the DVB card in question on the MD local backend? If yes...did this work?
All the best
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
I have a DVB card that is not PnP so have to manually configure it anyway. Everything is OK in Mythtv-setup but i can never play TV. I have moved it onto my core at the moment and it is working fine from there.
There is a forum post from some else who has just had the same issue with an HDPVR which required a rebuild to resolve.

In that case I would suggest the problem is that the DVB cards located in your MD on its internal 'Slave' or 'secondary' backend are not able to communicate with the MythTV master backend. At least that seems to be what your symptoms suggest.
All the best
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
I also thought that the MD was unable to connect to the master backend , but could use the mythtv usrname password in mysql to connect to myth database. I did notice that myth-backend isn't running on the MD. Does it need to be running.
I can also watch TV from a card on the backend so myth-frontend seems to be connecting to master backend.

Yes a MythTV backend should be running on your MD's too...its the local backend that handles the local DVB cards etc.
