Installiing second ethernet card?
« on: March 30, 2010, 01:58:11 pm »
Ok so I ordered a second ethernet card as my hybrid only had the one.
It just arrived so I am looking at putting it in, however, I have been reading some posts and the wiki and suggests
that it is not just as simple as plug and play!

Is this info still valid or have changes been made so that my currently setup hybrid will recognise the second ethernet card!!

thanks in advance

Plug it in and see where it goes... If there is an issue, it'll most likely be an issue around which nic will be external vs. internal, which will be easy to fix.

There is a wiki page that describes the process, however, it may not be up to date for 0810.  The cleanest way is to install with 2 NICs from the beginning, per the installation instructions and FAQ.

Use at your own risk, and update where you see fit:

You can edit the settings for the core in web admin just change any  eth0:0  settings to eth1
