I was trying to setup my HP Compaq nc6230 as my first MD on my pluto system. It was slowly chugging along when I picked it up and almost burned off my hands. I was very suprised that I had no damage to my circuts.

The fan works when I am booted into SUSE 10.1 and Windows, also when my BIOS has control. But once control is in the hands of Diskless booting the fan kills and the temp start to rise.

This is a big issue for me and I was wondering if anybody had a similar problem or knew of a place where Ican get information on running the fan all the time when my laptop is on?

Thanks for any help.

There have been some issue with different kernall.  Have you upgraded to plutohome 0.41

Try editing

option acpi=off

in the grub boot.
