ZWave Schlage door lock
« on: December 28, 2009, 05:59:36 pm »
I own the ZWave Schlage door lock BE369 which seems to work with Mi Casa Verde http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Schlage_Lock However, it does not seem to be supported by LinuxMCE.  Is there anyone who can ad this support or will know when it will be added?

ive actually gotten a few calls about this...

According to the manufacturer, only the full feature set is available if you use their interface. You can still lock / unlock, extended features are unavailable.
Linuxmce - Where everyone is never wrong, but we are always behind xbmc in the media / ui department.

What are the other features? I thought that they only do lock/unlock.
LinuxMCE - If it was easy, everybody would be doing it!!

this needs encryption support, and that is quite a bit of work. The device is not available outside US, so I don't feel like adding this myself..

I just wanted to add that Kwikset SmartCode uses Z-Wave as well (I do not know if Z-Wave is a new feature of that product, but it seems like it is). I hope that it will be available outside of the US so that a smart person, who has experience with Z-Wave and the proper tools, can add it.
I just googled Z-Wave, and i found OpenZWave. It seems that Kwikset is a better lock & there is "some" interest in that lock.
