I'm incorporating some cheap laptops I have with some 15" touch screens. What I wanted to do was have a dual monitor setup with the orbiter running on the touchscreen, but on the non-touch laptop screen have a status display with temperature, house status with maybe visual display of who is where and what is on, etc.

I didn't see any information on this in the docs. If something like this doesn't exist my next step was to figure out what database information that would be in and design a php page to pull that information. Thanks.

something like this doesn't exist at this point.
it was never discussed.
the design tool is working with pluto_main database
