Hi,

Ok, I don't want to spark a long-winded discussion here about why's and wherefores!

I have a problem getting my new server to boot off it's optical drive. I have managed to download a utility called UNetbootin (http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ which lets me create a bootable USB key to install linux.

Unfortunately, the only version I seem to be able to get to work properly is the net install of 810. That's ok, but I get presented with a long list of packages to choose from.

So my question is, which packages should I select for an MCE build base? Do I install stuff like MySQL or will the MCE scripts do all that later? In other words, which packages make up the "Desktop" version?

Thanks

it really doesnt matter, everything it needs will be installed due to dependency relationships.

Thanks Smiley

I ended up just selecting Kubuntu Desktop and the rest seemed to go ok (so far!)
